This caption speaks to romantic relationships, but we will use it for any love relationship. The words are crystal clear to those who will hear them.
I can't stand to be ignored by those who matter. If you've been ignored before, you think twice about doing it to someone else. However, in some cases, you have to do it. But this blog is not that. :-)
To be ignored is borderline equal to degrading someone, acting as if they don't matter. It hurts to the heart core if you love the person. Because at the crossfire of being ignored, you realize that you have now become an option to the person who has sealed themselves off from you. No access granted until they call "time."
Now there's a choice to make.
Do you let them off the hook for the neglect and them not wanting to be bothered with you? (I know, right.) Or do you take the high road and surrender just because they called you? I mean what do you do, run back?
If you're like me; part of you is a little happy that you're now being acknowledged. But the other part says, "Forget you." I mean, how do you have the audacity to summon me and make me think that it's fine? And then I should be alright with it...
I'd rather leave them hanging. But when you know Jesus, and He puts a heart in you that can't hold a grudge; you can't stay mad. Even though I low-key may want to with the people who've pulled this card.
But I've learned to let it go, and in some cases, I've let them go. It's better to do that than to set myself up with someone who can't be counted on. I've learned to guard my heart because sometimes people take for granted the ones with big hearts. But even a big heart has a limit and will shut it down.
When people continuously think they can play with your emotions without a cost, they teach you how to live without them. Because you do matter. God made you on purpose. You have to forgive, but you might have to love from a distance.
It's easy to deal back what you got. But prayerfully, God will lead you, because you can bet that He won't ignore you.
1 Peter 4:18 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
